Dylan is 10 Months Old!

Dear Dylan,
You are moving around so much these days!  You are so fast and getting yourself into a lot of trouble (like a broken collar bone) and having a blast all the time.

You absolutely love exploring and getting into everything (especially the kitchen cabinets!)  You make quick business of emptying out whatever drawer or cabinet you can find.  Once empty, you quickly try to climb in, close the door as much as you can and then peak your head back out all the while laughing hysterically.
Even through the ordeal with your broken collar bone, you remained as happy and sweet as ever.  It is already as if it didn't happen at all.  You are moving so quickly and time is flying by so fast!  We love you more and more every day!
Love Always,
Mommy

Old Town School of Folk Music

Dylan started Wiggleworms music class at the Old Town School of Folk Music.  He loves the music and especially when the teacher plays guitar.  She always blows bubbles at the end of class which he also finds hilarious and fascinating.  He does a sweet little wiggle when he hears music and the class is great!

Sleepy Boy

Simon insisted on sleeping with his sunglasses on, so of course I had to sneak in for a quick photo opp.  Such a sweet boy!

Our little "patient"

Our little climber, Dylan, is really getting around these days.  Unfortunately, he had a pretty bad fall and broke his little collar bone.  It was so sad!  After he fell he cried and cried.  I couldn't tell what was wrong but I knew it was something because he is normally so happy.  I tried to calm him and it wasn't working.  I called his doctor and they walked me through how to make sure it wasn't his head that was bothering him (which I was pretty sure it wasn't).  For the most part he seemed fine and then when I would pick him up he would start screaming.  So, Nonna came with us to the ER.  Right away the doctor guessed that he had a broken collar bone.  They can tell when the kids are picked up under the arms and cry that it is pressure on the broken bone.  After heading to X-Ray, her suspicion was confirmed.  There isn't much they can do for a baby with a broken collar bone.  They wrapped his arm to his chest with an ace bandage and said to leave it on if he could tolerate it.  Of course we knew he would not like it and it was off by the time we got home.  Our instructions were to take it easy (which is not so easy for Dylan) and be careful when lifting him up.
He was such a good boy at the Emergency Room and we are so lucky to live in Chicago so we could go to Lurie Children's Hospital.  They took such great care of our little guy and he was good as new in no time!

Fun in the suburbs

The boys had fun spending a morning in Libertyville with their cousins Stefan and Will.  When we go to their house Simon always says "Stefan lives in the forest".  He is such a city boy!
Dylan particularly loved playing with their dog Max.

Fun as always with our family!

Lego Time

Both of our boys love their legos and they are starting to (sort of) play together.  Simon builds elaborate structures and Dylan's idea of playing is mostly just tearing them down.  Simon does his best to take it in stride.  He often asks "When will Dylan be a boy?"  He is so ready for Dylan to be able to play like he does.  So sweet!

Simon in a submarine

We went to the Museum of Science and Industry and Simon went on the U505 Submarine for the first time.  He loved it!  Even though he probably did not understand much of what the tour guide was talking about he was very interested and patient as they walked us through.  At the end of the tour, they even let Simon push the button for the alarm.  It was definitely the highlight!
