Dylan is 2 Months Old!

Dear Dylan,
You are a dream baby!  You started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old.  At that point, I could not even sleep through the night because I was so used to being up while pregnant and when you were first born.  I used to think that people who said their babies slept through the night at such a young age we exaggerating, but I was wrong.  You sleep longer than your brother ever has!
All of that sleep makes you a VERY happy boy.  You started smiling at about 7 weeks.  Your face lights up the whole room.  You also love to make funny faces.  When Daddy sticks out his tongue at you, you stick yours out right back.  And he raises his eyebrows up and you do the same.  You are so smart and expressive for such a little guy!

We had a lot of fun adventures this month which include many trips to the park with your brother, trips to the beach, the zoo (check out the lion behind you in the zoo picture!) and all over the city.  It is amazing how much you are out and about in the world.  I guess having an older brother has sped things up for you a bit.  You seem to love every second of it.
I love you my little angel.  I just wish time would stop moving so fast.  I cherish every moment we spend together and love you more everyday!
Love Always,
Mommy

Beach Days

The Knight boys love the beach!  Simon is crazy about playing in the sand and swimming in the water "really far and really deep" as he requests.  Dylan likes the breeze and the fresh air and spends his time snoozing.

We are so lucky to live so close to amazing beaches.  We usually go to Foster Ave beach and Simon if we are not with friends or cousins, Simon is quick to make some friends for the day.  He usually picks friends with "cool trucks".
It will be so amazing when both boys can play and swim together.

The Sensational Six

We went from the Fabulous Five to the Sensational Six with the addition of Dylan to our pack of boys.  No one can believe that we still have not had a girl grandchild at this point.  These boys are so sweet and funny together.  Will says that he looks forward to being a role model to the younger boys and they sure love him.  The middle 4 are these hilarious little bundles of energy who Dylan can not wait to catch up to and play with.  As a mother and an Auntie, I feel so blessed to have this truly sensational group of boys to love!

Cousins Visit

We were so happy to have the Erbland's visit from Colorado this summer.  As usual, the boys picked up right where they left off and were as hilarious and energetic as ever.  Dylan was so happy to meet more of his family!  Jackson was particularly interested in baby Dylan and wanted to hold him and kiss him and feed him all of the time.  Simon love Dennie and Jackson so much and was thrilled to have them around.  We went to the beach, to the park, went bowling and played A LOT!
We miss them so much and can't wait to see them again soon.

Simon goes to camp

Simon started day camp at the JCC in Lakeview.  It is Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30-12:30.  Besides going to the daycare at my gym, it is the first time he has ever been on his own.  The first morning at drop off, I was nervous that he would get sad.  Reality could not have been further from that.  He went running into the classroom to play with toys and I had to go make a point to say goodbye to make sure he understood I was leaving.  He could not have cared less.  Everyday he goes to camp in his bathing suit and they have outside water play.  Then they come inside to play and have storytime and lunch.
I keep trying to get him to tell me about camp.  He does not say much, but I can tell he is making friends with the kids because he talks and sings about them.  The first day he said "It was fun.  I played with friends. "I played with toys.  The fire engine was broken so I fixed it with the hammer.  I want to take the bus to camp."

Needless to say, camp is a success!  He loves to go and it is really interesting to hear him sing songs that we either do not know or have never sung to him.  Last week, they learned all about caterpillars and butterflies and he talked about them nonstop.
This is Simon ready to leave the house on his first day of camp with his backpack, lunchbox and robot in hand.

I love seeing how he has his own little life outside of our house and how happy he is to share it.
