Dylan is 9 Months Old!

Dear Dylan,

You are such a big boy!  You spend a lot of time trying to figure out what trouble you can get into next.  Whether it be opening cabinets, climbing on top of things or messing with toys you are always on the go.  You were so funny on our trip to California.  You were great on the plane and loved all of the attention you got from other passengers (especially the ladies!)
You are still smiley all the time.  Your smile just gets cuter because your little teeth are sticking out so much.  We're so glad for you that your teeth are starting to come in more.  It has been a painful process for you, so the faster the better.
You love to look at books and magazines.  Such a studious little man!

Every day with you is an adventure.  You are a never ending source of energy and hilarity.  You make us all laugh every single day.  Thank you for being such a bright little light in our lives.
I love you with all of my heart,
Mommy

Cabrillo Point and Good Bye San Diego

On our last morning in San Diego, we drove with Grandma Lin and Grandpa Joe to Cabrillo point which looks over the San Diego bay.  It was incredibly beautiful!
We had such a lovely trip and we thankful to spend it with our family!  Can't wait to see them all again soon!

Auntie Gaga and Uncle David came to see us

We were so thrilled that Auntie Gaga and Uncle David drove down to San Diego from Los Angeles to be with us.  We spent the afternoon with them in Old Town San Diego and Balboa Park.

There was a lot of laughter and silliness.  We miss them!

Coronado Island

We spent the morning on the beach at Coronado Island.  It was beautiful and Dylan's first time dipping his toes in the ocean.  There was a master sand castle builder there (which we forgot to take a picture of) and Simon loved to see the giant castle he built.

My Valentines

We spent Valentine's Day in San Diego.  I was lucky to have three Valentine dates plus Grandma Lin and Grandpa Joe.

I had to squeeze in this adorable picture of my littlest Valentine from before we left on our trip.  Too cute!

Playing at the Pool

After our day at the San Diego Zoo, the boys took a quick dip in the pool

San Diego Zoo

We spent a lovely day at the San Diego Zoo.  It was so big that we could have spent 2 or 3 days there, but we were able to see a lot of animals and the boys loved it!

The boys were very into studying the maps which was really adorable.  We brought one of the maps home and Simon still likes to study it.

Dylan stayed up the whole day, but was so exhausted he finally passed out on the way to the car.

San Diego and Sea World

We sent to San Diego for a long weekend.  It was so nice to get away for a little while.  We essentially went straight from the plane to Sea World with Grandma Lin and Grandpa Joe which was very exciting for the boys.  Although there is a lot of controversy surrounding Sea World, we found it to be a very well done place.
Simon was happy to share some ice cream with Grandpa Joe!

The boys were wide-eyed and clapping most of the time.  We saw Shamu and an amazing Dolphin show.
Grandma and Grandpa bought some real fish so the boys could feed the seals.  It was so great, but birds came swooping in to steal the fish.

Kid's Work

Simon started going to Kid's Work a few days a week in January.  He loves it!  He is making new friends and loving his teachers.  He particularly loves music class and they put on a concert for their parents.  It was truly adorable!  Simon was one of the only kids to actually participate the whole time.  He did great!  We are so happy he is going to a place where he feels happy and is cared for so well.

Pizza Time!

The Oppenheimer's had us over to make our own pizza!  Simon loved it.  From rolling the dough to "dumping" the cheese, he was very focused.  The final product turned out great and he and Matthew had built up quite the appetite!  Yum!

Wildlife in the city

The place where Simon does gymnastics is not far from the Chicago River.  Sometimes deer who have been wandering down the river can be seen in the woods behind the gymnastics center.   One day we came out of gymnastics and the lady deer started chasing us!  She didn't seem aggressive and was probably looking for food.  It was crazy!  Outside of a zoo, I had never been so close to a deer before and Simon loved it!  We ran to the car and there was a big right in front of us too!  We went back a week later with Nonna and Dylan to bring them carrots and apples.  They were very happy!

Ready for Sochi!

Here's our future Olympians getting ready for the games in Sochi, Russia!  In reality, they have no idea what these hats are about but they look too cute!
