Happy Thanksgiving!

Simon loved his first Thanksgiving. He was a fantastic sous chef and even helped with the baking. He didn't get to eat any turkey, but loved his rice cereal and even fed himself. He can't wait for turkey next year.

Simon's Dad made him a pilgrim hat to help him get in the spirit of the holiday. Too cute!

Simon and his Dad were quite the fashionistas in their matching argyle sweaters. Love it!

Our lives have certainly changed since Thanksgiving last year. It was very fun to go around the table and talk about what we were thankful for this year. The funniest part was when Nonna asked Dennie what he was thankful for. Without skipping a beat he said, "More Cookies". It was hilarious!
We are so thankful to have our little man in our lives this year. He truly is a blessing and we are loving every minute with him. We can't wait to see how much he has changed at Thanksgiving next year!

Simon is 5 Months old!

Dear Simon,

I know I say it every month, but time is truly flying! It has flown so much that you are already 5 1/2 months as I write this post.
Your personality is so cute and funny. You love to imitate people around you whether we are making noises or faces. Every time your Daddy raises his eyebrows you laugh hysterically. You also went through a phase this month where you laughed hysterically at Nonna's dog Casey. You still think he is very cool, but not quite as funny.

You went swimming for the first time this month! We spent a weekend with your Aunties (we missed you Gabrielle!) and cousins and Nonna in the Wisconsin Dells for your big cousin Will's birthday. We had a great time. The water park was a little noisy for you with all of the echo, but I know you are going to be a water baby.

You continue to love your rice cereal. While you are eating you really love to hold the spoon yourself. I think you wish you could eat grown up food with us.
You also went with Mommy to the voting booth. We are trying to teach you to perform your civic duties early. You were a real hit with the election volunteers too.

Fall has been flying by and we are looking forward to seeing you enjoying the holidays. Halloween was a big hit and it really helps you to see your big cousins as they show you the ropes.
You are truly the light of our lives. We love you more everyday and can't believe how lucky we are to have you.
Love Always,
Mommy

Happy Halloween!

Simon has loved his first Halloween! Our neighborhood stores celebrated one day early so we went Trick or Treating today in Lincoln Square with two of his cousins. These pictures, cute as they are, don't even begin to capture the cuteness in these boys!!!!! Looks like I have finally been able to post a video (last two)! P.S. Simon is on the left and Jackson is on the right.

Chowing down

Last Wednesday the 13th, Simon started eating rice cereal and he is loving it.
The first few pictures are the very first bites he took. As you can see, he wasn't so sure about this stuff.

Getting better aleady

Now it is a few days later and you can see the difference.....he loves it!

But, sometimes he still just wants to eat his bib

Fall Fun!

A few weeks ago, we went to the pumpkin patch and apple picking with Nonna, Auntie Jennifer, Cousins Will and Stefan. It was a wonderful day. Simon can't wait to go next year when he is big enough to do more (especially riding the ponies and feeding the goats!)

Simon is 4 Months old!

Dear Simon,
This was such a fast month! Nonna was gone in Belgium for most of it and we missed her a lot. You were so happy to see her when she got back.
You have changed so much this month. It feels like the tiny baby days are gone. You love nothing more than to gaze at your hands and put them in your mouth. It makes the loudest sucking noise and it is very funny when you wake up and I hear only the sucking from the monitor.
This month you started noticing Zoe the cat as well. She seems to be more interested in you as well and I think you will love to play together in a few months.
You are quite a little "talker" and your daddy and I think you sometimes sound like Gizmo from the movie Gremlins. You will think it is a super old and lame movie, but it was very cool when we were kids.
You have started holding your toys this month which makes you so happy. I'll post some pictures of that soon. I'm so happy that you can do this because you are so smart that you were starting to get bored.
You have such an adorable little personality. We actually call you "The Professor". It started because your name sounds so grown up, but you've grown into the nickname as well. You are a very thoughtful and observant baby and it makes you look "Professorish" as we say.
You're changing so much now both physically and developmentally. Everyday when you wake up, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.
I am finally posting your three month pictures here. They are too precious and you have already grown since these were taken. It is truly amazing to watch.
I love you with all of my heart and can't wait to see what this month has in store for us.
Love Always,
Mommy
