Simon at the dentist
Simon went for his first dentist appointment and it was a big success. His teeth look great and he had no cavities. When we got there, I assumed he would sit on my lap in the chair, but he walked right up to the chair and told me "I climb" as he hopped right up. He sat by himself through the whole appointment and when they gave him birthday cake flavored ice cream he said, "I like it".

A budding artist
Simon has been working hard developing his skills as an artist. Because he was in the cast for so long, he spent a lot of time sitting in the high chair working with crayons, play dough, paint, stamps and colored pencils.

They loved playing with "baby" Simon and practiced getting ready for their baby brother who arrives later this summer |

Party Time!
We had Simon's 2nd birthday party at our house. It was a lovely day and he had a great time playing with his friends. Miss Julie came from the Old Town School of Folk Music to perform a Wiggleworms class for the kids. Needless to say, Simon loved it! After not being able to walk for a month, his dancing feet were ready to move! He had the best time and we are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends who shared our special day with us.
This time Simon ate the cupcake! It was a surprise to everyone, but he dug right in and loved it!
Happy Birthday to our little angel!
Simon's 2nd Birthday
On Simon's 2nd birthday, we went bowling for the first time with his cousins Dennie and Jackson. It was Simon's first time bowling and he loved it. He kept talking about rolling the ball with his hands and hitting the pins.
Afterwards, we went home to have lunch and a cupcake to celebrate. Simon loved singing happy birthday to himself.
He is still a funny eater and he would not even taste the cupcake. He faked us out a few times and seemed really excited, but never took one bite.
My New Cast
The day before Simon's 2nd birthday, we went back to Children's Memorial fora follow up. We were so happy that they took off the big blue cast and put on a new one. It is just below the knee and it is waterproof! They want him to take a bath ever day and they want him to walk as much as possible.
He is so much happier now! His energy level is up and he is very comfortable walking around with it. He told us "I love the green cast" He only has it on for 2 weeks and then this nightmare is over!
